The Take Charge Money Manager is a financial management tool that helps members track their spending and savings habits and assists in budgeting. The Take Charge Money Manager is available in Coast Online® Banking Services and Coast Mobile® Banking Services, and is available for both personal members and small business members.
The Take Charge Money Manager is enabled by default for all members who use Coast Online Banking Services or Coast Mobile Banking Services. The Take Charge Money Manager works with information from your accounts with Coast Capital Savings ("CCS"). You may also choose to allow the Take Charge Money Manager to use information from your accounts with other financial institutions. Your information will be used as described in these Terms. If at any time you no longer wish to use the Take Charge Money Manager, you may opt out by calling the Contact Centre at 1.888.517.7000.
Your use of the Take Charge Money Manager is governed by these Terms, and by the terms of your Personal Account and Services Agreement or Business Account and Services Agreement with CCS (each, an "Account and Services Agreement"). A copy of your Account and Services Agreement is available on the CCS Legal webpage or at any CCS branch.
We work with MX Technologies Inc., a third party service provider (the “Third Party Provider”), to provide you with the Take Charge Money Manager. We provide the Third Party Provider with information about your financial transactions, assets and liabilities from your accounts with CCS. If you choose to allow the Take Charge Money Manager to use similar information from your accounts with other financial institutions, you may provide account numbers, usernames, passwords, and other credentials (“Account Credentials”) to the Third Party Provider through the Take Charge Money Manager, and the Third Party Provider and its service providers will use those Account Credentials to obtain information about your accounts with those other financial institutions.
The Third Party Provider has agreed to protect your information with the utmost of care and confidentiality, and to implement appropriate safeguards designed to help ensure the security and confidentiality of your information. The Third Party Provider will use your information to provide the Take Charge Money Manager services to you. The Third Party Provider may also use your information for software optimization, improvement of the Take Charge Money Manager services, database integrity, benchmarking against internal Third Party Provider data or processes, and financial audits. The Third Party Provider has agreed not to use your information for any other purposes. In addition, CCS and its affiliates may use your information to provide the Take Charge Money Manager services to you, to provide personal financial management services to you, to improve and develop CCS products and services, to conduct research and generate statistics related to our business, products, services and membership, and for other uses described in our Privacy Policy.
The Third Party Provider provides the Take Charge Money Manager services from the United States, and your information will be processed and stored within the United States. Accordingly, your information may be subject to valid information requests made by government agencies in the United States.
You may choose to allow the Take Charge Money Manager to use financial information from your accounts with other financial institutions. You make this choice by providing Account Credentials in the Take Charge Money Manager.
If you choose to allow the Take Charge Money Manager to use financial information from your accounts with other financial institutions, then the following additional terms will apply:
- The Third Party Provider may use service providers to collect information from your accounts with other financial institutions. When you provide Account Credentials via the Take Charge Money Manager, the Account Credentials will be shared with the Third Party Provider and may be shared by the Third Party Provider with its service providers. The Third Party Provider or its service providers will use the Account Credentials to access information about your financial transactions, assets and liabilities from your accounts with other financial institutions.
- For the Take Charge Money Manager to function properly, you must provide accurate, current and complete Account Credentials to CCS and the Third Party Provider, and you must keep your Account Credentials up to date. You agree not to use the Take Charge Money Manager to access information from accounts unless you have the authority to provide CCS and the Third Party Provider with the necessary Account Credentials. By providing the Account Credentials, you are authorizing and instructing CCS, the Third Party Provider, and the Third Party Provider’s service providers to use the Account Credentials to access your accounts with those other financial institutions and to obtain, on your behalf, information about your financial transactions, assets and liabilities from your accounts with those other financial institutions.
- You are responsible for any fees that other financial institutions may charge you arising from your use of the Take Charge Money Manager. These Terms do not modify your agreements with the other financial institutions, and you are responsible for complying with the terms of those agreements. Do not provide Account Credentials to us if that would be a breach of the terms of your agreement with another financial institution. CCS, the Third Party Provider, and the Third Party Provider’s service providers cannot answer questions about your agreements with other financial institutions.
The Take Charge Money Manager provides a general overview of your finances and is not intended to serve as a substitute for financial advice from a professional. If you would like financial advice from a professional, please call the Contact Centre at 1.888.517.7000.
The Take Charge Money Manager is provided for information purposes only and may not reflect your most recent transactions. You are responsible for any decisions you make based on the information provided by the Take Charge Money Manager.
While CCS and the Third Party Provider will make reasonable efforts to ensure the Take Charge Money Manager functions as intended, errors may occur. The Take Charge Money Manager may not always be available and may be modified or discontinued without prior notice to you. Neither CCS nor the Third Party Provider is responsible for any damages you may suffer as a result of the Take Charge Money Manager being unavailable. To the extent permitted at law, CCS and its affiliates and the Third Party Provider and its service providers disclaim all warranties of any kind as to the Take Charge Money Manager, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Neither CCS nor the Third Party Provider provide any warranty that the Take Charge Money Manager will meet your requirements, will be uninterrupted, secure or error free, or that the information obtained from the Take Charge Money Manager will be accurate or reliable.
CCS and its affiliates and the Third Party Provider and its service providers are not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, injury or inconvenience suffered or incurred by you or any other person, or for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, exemplary, aggravated, or tort damages suffered by you or any other person, arising from (a) your use of or inability to use the Take Charge Money Manager, (b) your use of any information you receive through the Take Charge Money Manager, (c) any unauthorized access to, or alteration, use, or disclosure of, your information (including your Account Credentials), (d) any other matter arising from your use of the Take Charge Money Manager, or (e) the services provided by the Third Party Provider or its service providers to CCS or to you which are related to the Take Charge Money Manager, even if CCS or its affiliates or the Third Party Provider or its service providers have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You will indemnify and hold CCS and its affiliates and the Third Party Provider and its service providers and each of them harmless from and against any and all liabilities, losses, claims and costs, including legal costs, incurred by CCS or its affiliates or the Third Party Provider or its service providers in connection with your use of the Take Charge Money Manager, or the services provided by the Third Party Provider or its service providers to CCS or to you which are related to the Take Charge Money Manager, or resulting from your breach of these Terms.
The terms of this Agreement are a change to and form part of your Account and Services Agreement. The terms of your Account and Services Agreement are incorporated by reference into this Agreement as if set out in full in this Agreement. Terms having a meaning that is defined in your Account and Services Agreement will have the same meaning when used in this Agreement, unless otherwise defined or unless the context otherwise requires. For greater certainty, the terms of your Account and Services Agreement that limit the liability of, or require you to indemnify, CCS or its affiliates or any other person, apply to this Agreement and in respect of the services provided by CCS under this Agreement. If there is any inconsistency between a provision of this Agreement and a provision of your Account and Services Agreement, this Agreement will govern to the extent that there is any inconsistency in relation to the Take Charge Money Manager service, but not otherwise.
