Consent to Electronic Delivery of Documents

This Consent to Electronic Delivery of Documents (the “Terms”) applies to the electronic delivery of documents and other information relating to your membership with Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union.

1. Definitions:

Coast Capital”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union and all of its affiliates and subsidiaries;

Electronic Delivery System” means one of Coast Online Banking, Coast Online Banking for Small Business, Coast Online Business Banking, Coast Mobile Banking, Coast Mobile Banking for Business, or email, as applicable, and as such systems may be called by us from time to time. By consenting to receive electronic delivery of documents and information, you elect to receive electronic delivery through one of these platforms; and

you” and “your” mean the primary, secondary, co-borrower, co-signor, or business member of Coast Capital who consents to the electronic delivery of documents and information for all accounts associated with the membership.

2. Your Consent:

You consent to electronic delivery of the following documents and other information related to your membership, as applicable, through the Electronic Delivery System:

  1. Account, product, and service applications and forms;
  2. Member and other customer agreements;
  3. Periodic or monthly account statements;
  4. Annual disclosure statements including mortgage information disclosures;
  5. Tax receipts, including T3, T4, T5, and RRSP contributions receipts;
  6. Notices of changes to agreements governing your accounts, products, and services;
  7. Notices of changes to interest rates or fees, new fees and any other items indicated in our disclosure statements;
  8. Notices of meetings of members, materials relating to elections and voting, and annual financial information;
  9. Communications about your membership, accounts, products, services, and this Consent, including confirmation of your consent and any changes thereto; and
  10. Any other confirmation, notice, and information we are required to provide (by law or otherwise), in writing, relating to your membership, accounts, products, and services.

You also consent to delivery of the above documents and information by giving notice to your current mailing or email address on our records that they are available on our public website or another location included in the notice.

If any of the above documents and information are not currently available for electronic delivery, we will continue to send them by paper until they are made available for electronic delivery. This consent should take immediate effect, but if a document is issued before this consent takes effect, you may still receive paper delivery. This consent applies to all accounts, products, and services for which you have subscribed under your membership and all subsequent extensions, renewals, and amendments thereto.

You grant consent to electronic delivery of the above documents and information on behalf of all other joint account holder(s) for any chequing or savings account that is a joint account, or guaranteed investment certificate, term deposit, lending product, or Education Savings Plan that is jointly held. You confirm that you are duly authorized by all other joint account holder(s) to grant this consent. You will inform all other joint account holder(s) of this Consent, including the ability to revoke consent as described in section 8 below.

3. Verbal Consent

If you grant verbal consent to electronic delivery of documents and information, we will confirm your consent by sending a copy of these Terms in electronic or paper  form. If you do not agree to these Terms, you are responsible for immediately revoking your consent as described in section 8 below.

4. Risk

You understand that the use of the electronic delivery system may have enhanced risks, including, without limitation, untimely delivery, unauthorized access to, or interception, loss, or alteration of the delivered documents. You accept all risks associated with the use of the electronic delivery system and acknowledge that you must keep access to and your means of accessing the electronic delivery system secure from any other person, including keeping passwords and other credentials confidential at all times. We will not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, or inconvenience that result from the use of the electronic delivery system.

5. Availability of Documents

The documents described in section 2(a) to (e) above will be available for 8 years after electronic delivery on the Electronic Delivery System. All other documents and information delivered electronically will be available for 90 days. You are responsible for retaining printed or downloaded copies of all documents for your personal records.

6. Your Obligations

You agree to access the Electronic Delivery System at least once per month to review any delivered documents and information. You confirm that you have the necessary technical ability and electronic resources to perform this obligation. You acknowledge that the technical and security requirements for accessing the Electronic Delivery System may change from time to time and if you are no longer able to access the Electronic Delivery System, you will contact us immediately. Any documents and information delivered through the Electronic Delivery System will be deemed received by you at the time they are posted or made available on the Electronic Delivery System, even if you do not access and review the documents and information.

Notices of electronic delivery of documents and information may be sent to your most current email address on our records. You agree to notify us of any change to your email address. You will be deemed to have received notices sent by email at the time the email is received by your email server even if you do not access and review the documents and information.

7. Providing Documents by Paper

It is important to know that we may continue to send paper documents even though you have provided your consent for electronic delivery. We may do so at our discretion and for reasons including if the documents are not available for electronic delivery or we have reason to believe that you have not received electronic delivery. Any documents sent by paper delivery will be sent to your most current mailing address on our records. You agree to notify us of any change to your mailing address.

8. Revoking Consent

You may revoke your consent at any time by:

  1. Calling our Advice Centre at 1.888.517.7000; or
  2. Visiting a Coast Capital branch.

We will send confirmation of your revocation by electronic or paper delivery indicating when it will take effect. This revocation of consent should take effect immediately, but if a document is issued before this revocation takes effect, you may still receive electronic delivery.

9. Amendments and Notice

We may make changes to these Terms from time to time. You agree to be bound by any future changes we make. We may provide notice of changes by:

  1. Mailing a paper notice to your most current mailing address on our records;
  2. Posting or delivering a notice through the Electronic Delivery System;
  3. Posting a notice on our website; or
  4. Posting a notice at our Branches.

If any new document types, not already listed in section 2, become available for electronic delivery, we may ask if you would wish to receive the new documents types by electronic or paper delivery
