Make a contribution to your TFSA, RRSP or RRIF

Easily move money between accounts in your own membership.

How to do it

  1. Sign in to digital banking
  2. From the menu, select Transfers then Transfer Funds
  3. Select the account to make the transfer from and the TFSA, RRSP or RRIF it will transfer to
  4. Enter transfer amount Specify the timing for the transfer
    • Now: The transfer is sent immediately.
    • Later: You'll select the date you want the transfer to be sent.
    • Recurring: You'll select the date you want the transfer to be sent, and then on the regular interval you define (weekly, monthly, etc.) 
  5. Select Continue, review the transfer details and select Confirm

Limits

Transfers within same membership: No limit

Transfer a TFSA, RRSP or RRIF to Coast Capital

How to do it

  1. Sign in to digital banking
  2. From the menu, select Transfers, then Transfer a TFSA or RRSP
  3. Select the type of account you want to transfer funds from Funds must be transferred into the same type of account it’s being transferred from (e.g. TFSA to TFSA). If you do not yet have that account type at Coast Capital, you will be prompted to open one first. You can then come back to this page to start the transfer.
  4. Fill in the form with your other financial institution details and the amount you wish to transfer
  5. Review the details and confirm the request

Fees

There is no fee from Coast Capital. Please consult the financial institution you are transferring from to learn about any potential fees they may charge.

Processing time

  • We’ll email you a request for a digital signature within three business days
  • Funds should arrive 2-3 week after we receive your digital signature

What to expect

The funds will be deposited into the High-Interest Savings Account associated with your plan type (TFSA, RRSP etc)

FAQs

With this method of transferring, there are no tax implications for transfers between accounts in the same type of plan (i.e. TFSA to TFSA, RRSP to RRSP and so on).
