What does this mean for existing cardholders?
On October 10, 2023, Coast Capital Visa* Desjardins credit card accounts will transfer to Mastercard® cards issued by Collabria Financial Services. If you’re an existing Visa* cardholder, you’ll receive details in the mail about your Mastercard offer, what it means for you, and how Coast Capital is working to make this transition simple and worry-free. Your Mastercard will carry your corresponding balance, the same credit limit, and comparable features and benefits.
Applications for new cardholders will start in October, 2023.

The Coast Capital team thoroughly examined the offerings from both Visa* and Mastercard® closely and has determined that the Mastercard® suite offers cards with features and benefits that better align with our membership. As the fastest growing network in Canada, the Mastercard® suite of products also offers our members more control over their cards with enhanced alert capability and spend analysis features.
No. This transition will not affect credit bureau report or score. There are no credit bureau reports pulled for this transition. Cardholders will be shown as “transitioned” to a new issuer, which has no impact on credit bureau scores.
To avoid delinquencies, cardholders are asked to update their bill payment vendor list as of October 10, 2023, as payees and automatic/recurring payments will not be transitioned to Collabria-issued Mastercard® products.
Keeping your personal information safe and secure is a top priority for all parties involved in this transition. Desjardins and Collabria have confirmed that security and compliance measures are being applied to ensure that only the appropriate staff are safely accessing data when required to carry out the activities for this transition. Data is only being used to ensure accounts are moved over correctly in order to continue offering quality credit card services with minimal impact on cardholders.
No. Coast Capital is not sharing any cardholder or member data with Collabria or Desjardins. Your information is held by Desjardins and was provided by you at the time of your application for the purpose of providing you with a credit card. This information will be transferred to Collabria by Desjardins as part of a commercial transaction for the sole purpose of providing you with credit card services.
If you do not want your credit card account transferred to Collabria, you must contact Desjardins to cancel your credit card account by August 20, 2023. When you close your credit card account, please ask Desjardins to confirm that your personal information has not been transferred to Collabria, and if it has, for it to be deleted by Collabria.
If you would still like a credit card, you can then apply to Collabria for a new card following the conversion of the portfolio on October 10, 2023.

Communications about this transfer are based on Desjardins’ current information. If your address has changed since you opened your Coast Visa* Desjardins card, and you’ve not advised Desjardins, it is possible that you will not receive the appropriate communications.

Yes, you can continue using your Coast Visa* Desjardins card until October 13, 2023 or until you activate your Mastercard, whichever date comes first. Cardholders can activate their Mastercard® issued by Collabria starting on October 10, 2023. Coast Visa* Desjardins-issued cards can no longer be used to make purchases after October 13, 2023.
Note, to avoid a credit overlimit, once your Mastercard, issued by Collabria is activated. do not use your Coast Visa Desjardins card.
No. If you have a balance remaining on your Coast Visa* Desjardins card at the time of conversion, the balance will be transferred to the Mastercard, issued by Collabria and owed to Collabria. Note that automated and recurring payments will need to be updated to reflect the details of your Collabria-issued Mastercard.
Cardholders are reminded that you are still required to respect your statement of account due date.
- Any unused points as of October 1, 2023 will be transitioned to Collabria’s Flex Rewards platform.
- If you wish to redeem your BONUSDOLLAR points within the BONUSDOLLAR program before the points are transitioned to Collabria, the last day you can redeem them is September 30, 2023.
- Details on how to access the new Flex Rewards account will be included with your Collabria-issued Mastercard® Card Welcome kit in mid-September.
Yes, a process will be made available for cardholders to obtain copies of their historical statements from Desjardins. However, to avoid delays, it is recommended that you download their current card statements from AccèsD before October 1, 2023. To download your statements, log in to your VISA* Desjardins AccèsD account and click “Statements and documents” from the navigation menu. If you are currently receiving e-statements, your final statement will be sent in the mail after September 5, 2023.
Purchases made on Desjardins-issued credit cards prior to October 10, 2023, will remain covered under the conditions in effect with the Visa* Desjardins card. Refer to existing insurance materials (i.e., certificate and terms) for any claims and/or questions regarding coverage for other purchases made prior to October 10, 2023.
Balance Protection Insurance on current Coast Visa* Desjardins cards will not transfer to the Collabria-issued Mastercard®. If you wish to have Balance Protection Insurance on your Collabria-issued card, you can reach out to Collabria Cardholder Services at 1.833.906.9650 after October 10, 2023, to apply.
AccordD Financing Plans will not be transferred to Collabria accounts. The balance remaining as of October 10, 2023, will be transferred to a Desjardins account that will be created only for AccordD Financing. The terms of the financing will remain the same as first contracted. Desjardins will send additional information on how to access and make payments to your new AccordD financing account. Additional questions about AccordD Financing Plans are to be directed to Desjardins at 1.800.363.3380.
If your current Desjardins-issued Visa* is in your digital wallet, it will no longer work after October 13, 2023. You will need to complete the steps to add your Collabria-issued Mastercard® to your digital wallet once your card is activated.
No. If you have automatic or recurring payments on your Coast Visa* Desjardins card, they will not transfer to your Collabria-issued Collabria-issued Mastercard®. You will be able to set up automatic payments and recurring payments with your Collabria-issued Mastercard® once your card has been activated (starting October 10, 2023).

The Coast Capital and Collabria teams have worked together to match you with a credit card that has similar features and benefits to your current Coast Visa Desjardins card.
The credit limit on your Collabria-issued Mastercard® will be the same as the credit limit you have on your Coast Visa* Desjardins card.
What’s different.
The Mastercard® products issued by Collabria will have different terms and conditions than your current Desjardins-issued Visa* credit card. Your Mastercard® will also have a different number, expiration date, and 3-digit security code.
You will also be required to set a new PIN for your Collabria-issued Mastercard®. Details on how to activate your card and set your PIN will be included with your Collabria-issued Mastercard® Welcome Kit which will be mailed in mid-September 2023.
Collabria will send Mastercard® products to current Coast Visa* Desjardins credit card holders in mid-September 2023. You will receive Collabria-issued Mastercard® in the mail prior to October 10th, 2023. The card will be sent to your address that is on file with Desjardins. If you need to update your address, you can do so by logging in to your VISA* Desjardins AccèsD profile or calling the Desjardins Contact Centre at 1.800.363.3380 (personal accounts) or 1.800.266.5662 (business accounts).
If you are a current Coast Visa* Desjardins credit card holder and do not receive a Coast Capital Mastercard® issued by Collabria, please call the Collabria Contact Centre at 1.833.906.9650 on or after October 10, 2023.
A Product Assignment Letter will be sent in mid-July to advise you which Collabria-issued Mastercard® product you will be transferred to. The Coast Capital and Collabria teams have worked together to match you with this credit card as it has similar features and benefits to your current Coast Visa Desjardins card.
To ensure data security, the Coast Capital and Collabria contact centers will not have account details to verify which card each cardholder has been assigned until after October 10, 2023, as these accounts still belong to Desjardins until this time.
No. Even though you will receive your Mastercard® in the mail in September, you cannot activate your card until October 10, 2023. This is done to ensure each cardholder receives their new card before the transition date and allows our teams the time required to convert data from one platform to the other.
While you have been assigned the Collabria-issued Mastercard® that most closely matches their current Coast Visa* Desjardins credit card, we understand you may be interested in different options. You can reach out to the Collabria Contact Centre at 1.833.906.9650 after October 10, 2023, to make a product switch. Due to the significant volume of accounts being moved to the Collabria program, changes leading up to October 10, 2023, cannot be accommodated.
Current Coast Visa* Desjardins credit card accounts will be closed on October 10, 2023. The benefits and insurance coverage will not transfer to the Collabria-issued Mastercard®. The Collabria-issued Mastercard® will have its own benefits and insurance coverages.
The Collabria team is making every effort to keep due dates the same, however, some cardholders will see a slight change in their statement due dates.
If you have set up pre-authorized payments to pay your credit card account balance, the last payment withdrawn from your account will be in September for your August 2023 statement. After your September payment is deducted, no further pre-authorized payment withdrawals from your banking account will be made. You will need to make your account balance payments to Collabria beginning in October.
If you wish to make additional payments toward your credit card balance, you can log in to your AccèsD account until and including September 30, 2023 to make a manual payment. (Business cardholders can do the same by logging into AccèsD Affaires and making manual payments until and including October 4, 2023).
