Free Chequing, Free Debit and More Account
- Transactions include cheques drawn on the account, Coast Capital® and THE EXCHANGE® Network ATM withdrawals, Interac Direct Payment, pre-authorized payments, bill payments, transfers (between Coast Capital accounts), and withdrawals (in-branch/self serve). Deposits and electronic transfers (between Coast Capital accounts) performed via Coast Capital ® ATM, Coast-by-Phone®, and Coast Capital digital banking are free & unlimited.

Low-Cost Account: Our Free Chequing, Free Debit and More Account meets our public commitment to ensure that members have access to basic banking services at a nominal cost. If paper statements are requested instead of eStatements, this account costs $3/membership per month. If paper cheque image returns are requested, this cost is $0.50/account per month, and you will receive images of all your cheques with your statement. If you don't write any cheques, no fee will be charged.
No-Cost Account: If you identify in one of the Eligible Groups (noted below), you can open our Free Chequing, Free Debit & More Account and access a No-Cost account that meets the minimum requirements as outlined in the FCAC guidelines. Paper printed statements and paper cheque image return will be at no charge. Call our Advice Centre or visit a branch for more information.
Eligible Groups for No-Cost Account: Students, Youth (Canadians aged 18 and under), Seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement, Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) beneficiary, Newcomers to Canada (for 1st year in Canada), Indigenous peoples, Canadians receiving social assistance payments from select provincial or territorial programs or Recipients of the Disability Tax.
