We are excited to welcome motusbank members to Coast Capital Savings Federal Credit Union. As motusbank winds down operations later this year, many of your accounts will be transitioning to Coast Capital – pending regulatory approval.

Frequently Asked Questions 

motusbank, a digital subsidiary of Meridian Credit Union, is winding down operations by the end of 2025 as Meridian shifts its focus to growing its core credit union operations in Ontario. Transitioning certain motusbank accounts to Coast Capital ensures motusbank members continue to receive service through a trusted Canadian credit union.

Pending regulatory approval, the following will be transitioned to Coast Capital:

  • All deposit accounts (e.g. chequing, savings, GICs) from across Canada
  • All lending accounts held outside Ontario
  • A small selection of lending accounts held in Ontario

If you are unsure where your account will transition, you can contact motusbank for clarification.

For now, no action is needed of you. We are hard to make the process as smooth as possible and will contact you in the coming months with specific instructions on how your account will transition. We’ll contact you well in advance with clear instructions and support to guide you through any required steps.

The exact timing depends on when regulatory approvals are received. Once approved, we’ll notify you directly of the official transition date and provide full instructions to ensure a smooth experience. We are aiming to have all accounts transition by the end of 2025.

Yes. Your money continues to be safe and secure. Eligible deposits remain insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) before, during, and after the transition.

Absolutely. Your motusbank accounts will continue to work as usual until the official transfer. After that, you’ll be setup with Coast Capital’s digital banking tools, with support every step of the way.
