Coast Capital wins 2017 Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures award

Surrey, B.C.: Coast Capital’s corporate culture is among the most admired in Canada, according to a leading human capital consultancy and executive search firm that annually recognizes top organizations in this area across the country.

Waterstone Human Capital today named Coast Capital Savings as one of the 2017 recipients of its prestigious Canada’s Most AdmiredTM Corporate Cultures award. The awards are given out each year to select Canadian organizations with a corporate culture that demonstrably attracts and retains employees, drives performance and helps the organization sustain a competitive advantage.

This is the third time that Coast Capital has received the award. Don Coulter, Coast Capital Savings president and CEO, said the honour highlights the key role the credit union’s culture and purpose plays in the organization’s success.

“Coast Capital’s corporate culture reflects our purpose, which is ‘together, we help you achieve what’s important in your life,’ ” Coulter said. “This sets the tone for everything we do, whether it’s creating a culture that allows employees to thrive, helping our members achieve financial wellbeing, or building a richer future for youth through our community investments.”

Coulter said the award will ensure Coast Capital continues to attract the best talent and gave credit for the recognition to the organization’s staff, who demonstrate a commitment to delivering real “help” every day.

“This award is recognition of Coast Capital’s employees, who serve as great ambassadors of our organization’s culture, in their interactions with each other, members, and in the community” Coulter added. “In the end, your culture is best exhibited in the actions of employees and we are extremely proud of what this award says about the calibre and contributions of our people.”

Marty Parker, president and CEO of Waterstone Human Capital and chair of the organization that awards the Canada’s Most Admired™ Corporate Cultures award, said winning organizations like Coast Capital are to be admired for the diverse and impactful ways they make sure culture underpins all that makes them successful.

“At Waterstone we believe corporate culture drives performance and that it’s your organization’s greatest asset,” Parker said. “What’s remarkable about this dynamic list of 2017 winners is their commitment to culture as a competitive advantage. They truly set the benchmark for cultivating, and sustaining, great cultures that ultimately drive their growth and performance.”

Submissions to the Canada’s Most Admired™ Corporate Cultures award program are scored on six categories, comprised of vision and leadership; recruitment and hiring for fit; cultural alignment and measurement; retention, rewards and recognition; organizational performance; and corporate social responsibility.
