Leadership Change: Coast Capital Wishes Tracy Redies a Fond Farewell

Surrey, BC – Coast Capital Savings today announced that Tracy Redies, President and CEO, has decided to step down to pursue other opportunities, effective Monday, July 21st. The board of directors has appointed current CFO Don Coulter as Interim CEO and initiated the process to select a permanent successor.

Redies joined Coast Capital in April 2009. During her tenure Coast Capital grew its membership to more than 500,000, had several years of record profits, and recently launched the credit union’s new three-year strategy.

“I am proud of what has been accomplished in partnership with my talented executive team and the exceptional employees at Coast Capital,” said Redies. “It’s now the right time to hand over the reins to someone who can build on Coast Capital’s tremendous legacy and drive continued innovation, growth and prosperity for the credit union’s members.”

“Tracy has provided strong leadership in a challenging economic and competitive environment,” said Bill Cooke, chair of Coast Capital’s board of directors. “I would like to thank her for her significant contributions and commitment to ensuring Coast Capital is positioned for future success in a rapidly changing financial services marketplace.”

Interim CEO Coulter joined Coast Capital in 2009 and has more than 20 years of experience in all areas of banking. In addition to strengthening Coast Capital’s financial position over the past five years, he has played a key role in realizing the organization’s strategic vision. In 2013 Don was selected as CFO of the Year by Business in Vancouver magazine.

“Don has been integral to the growth and success of Coast Capital,” said Cooke. “Under his leadership and with the support of a strong executive team, Coast Capital will continue to move forward on its corporate strategy and deliver on its mission to provide simple financial help to our members.”
