Funding Programs Currently Under Review

2020 was a year of accelerated transformation that allowed us to pause and view our work with a new lens. Since March of 2020, the events taking place around the globe have inspired important conversations and we are now looking to reimagine our work and the ways in which we serve our local communities.

The future is not yet clearly defined, and as such, we have paused our granting program and are currently assessing the way we support community programs as well as how each program contributes to our members, partners and our larger communities. We’re working diligently behind the scenes to ensure that our next steps take into consideration the many stakeholders who depend on our funding model. We’re excited about the future and appreciate your patience as we work to find new ways to connect and to contribute to “building back better.”

In 2019, we invested $6 million in our local communities.

We help empower youth to achieve what’s important in their lives by investing in programs that give youth a hand up and improve youth financial well-being.

So just by banking with us, you’re supporting youth in your communities too. Learn how we make an impact and check out our 2019 Annual Report.

How can we help youth?

Every year, Coast Capital invests 10% of our budgeted bottom line back into our communities with a focus on youth. Since 2000, that's more than $83 million.

Because many youth face more than their share of challenges on their journey to financial independence, Coast Capital Savings strategically invests and works alongside our community partners to break down the barriers that young people face.

We believe that helping young Canadians achieve financial independence will spark a hand up movement. By tapping into the creative energy of youth and their drive to build a better future, we aim to empower youth to become change-makers and inspire them to pay it forward.

Through our Youth Community Investment Program, we focus our support on helping youth:

  • build a strong financial future
  • succeed during their school years
  • prepare for the world of work
  • address basic, social, emotional and physical needs (unless we remove these barriers, it’s doubly difficult for youth to focus on their finances)
