We’re a proud partner of Pink Shirt Day.

Coast Capital has been the presenting sponsor of Pink Shirt Day in BC since 2012. In 2017 alone, we invested more than $500,000 into bullying prevention programs above and beyond our investment in Pink Shirt Day.

Pink Shirt Day Highlights

We've been supporting Pink Shirt Day throughout the years.

Check out how our employees got into the Pink Shirt Day spirit.

How we help.

Our support of Pink Shirt Day is part of our Youth Get It community investment program commitment to helping build healthy minds. We want to help youth in your community build a sense of belonging to decrease stress and depression.

Bullying affects people of all gender, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds and the numbers are staggering:

  • 40% of Canadian youth said they have been bullied online
  • Bullying in Canadian schools happens every 25 minutes in the classroom and every 7 minutes elsewhere on school grounds
  • Studies show that bullying can end within 10 seconds of intervention

By supporting Pink Shirt Day we’re helping bullying prevention programs that encourage youth to have positive interactions with their peers, and that teach kindness and respect all year long.

All proceeds from Pink Shirt Day go to the CKNW Kids’ Fund which provides grants to help local non-profit organizations working year round on bullying prevention initiatives including: Out on Screen, Equitas, Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC, Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Canada, Red Cross Canada and LOVE BC.
